Flex-Open inks can contribute to higher profits because of minimal ink adjustment. The inks create a cleaner environment, faster clean-up, safer working conditions and cleaner anilox, and are engineered for quality high-end process jobs and limit dot gain and distorted copy. Additionally, the limited viscosity fluctuation creates a more consistent color throughout the run and improves overall job profitability.
Equipment Specifications: Flex-Open inks were formulated to run on conventional metering, doctor blade and closed chambered systems. The Flex-Open ink line can be custom formulated. Expected press speeds can range from 100-700 fpm.
Quality Control: Viscosity is between 10-15 seconds #3 Zahn cup with a pH of 8.5-9.5.
Shelf Life: Inks remain effective up to one year when stored in a sealed container at 60-72° F.
Additives: Flex-Open inks are best reduced with an extender, which keeps the chemistry in tact throughout the run and helps maintain good adhesion and lay down. However, water can be used to occasionally maintain the viscosity.
