ECOSMART™ INK
CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IDENTIFIES ECO-FRIENDLY INK PRODUCTS AND
MATERIALS PRINTED WITH ECOSMART INKS
Braden
Sutphin is among the first commercial ink manufacturers to establish environmentally responsible ink guidelines
for printers, print buyers and end users.
CLEVELAND – February
28, 2008 – Braden Sutphin Ink Company has launched EcoSmart, a
certification program that gives printers, print buyers and end users
the ability to easily identify and understand the attributes of Braden
Sutphin’s environmentally friendly ink products. The EcoSmart
certification program is an extension of Braden Sutphin’s growing line
of environmentally safe ink products, designed in response to the needs
of printers, print buyers and end users for environmentally friendly
products.
“Braden Sutphin has produced environmentally friendly ink options for
more than two decades,” said Ray Loomis, Braden Sutphin national sales
manager. “However, the lack of industry or other relevant U.S.
environmental commercial ink standards ultimately drove us to develop
our own guidelines. We want to help customers, print buyers and end
users be more environmentally responsible. The EcoSmart guidelines not
only help feature environmentally friendly inks in our current product
portfolio, they also help us create new environmentally friendly inks
in the future.”
Braden Sutphin EcoSmart ink products can be easily identified by the
EcoSmart seal. Upon purchasing EcoSmart products, printers are
allowed to use the EcoSmart seal for their own marketing purposes.
Additionally, customer documents printed with Braden Sutphin EcoSmart
certified inks may also carry the seal, alerting consumers that a safe
ink has been used.
The EcoSmart guidelines were developed by Braden Sutphin’s technical
department and represent significant environmental benefits compared to
traditional ink products. The EcoSmart program and guidelines can be
viewed at http://www.bsink.com/ecosmart.html
or can be requested by contacting a Braden Sutphin sales representative
or the company’s marketing department at 800.289.6872.
“We are fully committed to the EcoSmart program,” said Loomis, “and
will continue to evaluate our guidelines and make necessary adjustments
as ink technologies evolve.”
